DISTRIBUTION SCHEDULE

Distribution Types

Choice Distribution (▲)

  • As available, clients will be given a choice between food items from the following categories - frozen meat, loose fruits, loose vegetables, packaged fruits, packaged vegetables, salads, baked goods, and breads. Clients should bring their own bags or boxes.  Clients will be able to go through the choice line multiple times, until all food has been distributed. Clients must arrive by posted distribution time.



Bagged distribution (■): 

  • As available , clients will be provided with a pre-bagged variety of food from the following categories: frozen or canned meat, canned non-perishable items, loose fruits, loose vegetables, packaged fruits, packaged vegetables, salads, baked goods, and breads. Clients do not need to bring their own bags or boxes. Clients may arrive at any time during the posted distribution.

Policies & Procedures

Clients Must:

  • Present Hays County Food Bank barcode (issued on the first visit) at every distribution in order to receive services.
    • If the barcode does not belong to the client, the person presenting the barcode MUST be listed as a proxy.
  • Follow all directions of staff members or distribution leader.
  • Only send one person per household  through the food line.
  • Supervise children at all times. 
    • Parents of unsupervised children may be asked to leave.
  • Not eat, drink, or smoke at any distribution location.
  • Treat all persons with respect.
    • If there is an issue, please report it to a staff member.
    • Staff reserves the right to refuse service to any uncooperative person.

Late Policy

Multiple Choice Distribution Only

  • Clients must arrive before posted distribution time, but no more than 45 minutes early.
  • Anyone who arrives late (after the posted distribution time), will receive a yellow card and will receive food last.
  • No one will be admitted 10 minutes after the posted distribution time.

Mobile Pantry &

Fresh Foods for Families

  • This is a partnership between Central Texas Food Bank and Hays County Food Bank.
  • These distributions do not count as one of your weekly allowed distributions.
  • Clients must be present to receive food.
  • Clients must be 18 years or older.
  • These are single round distributions.
  • Bring bags or boxes to carry groceries in.
  • If the weather is bad or if the mobile pantry occurs on a holiday, please call (512) 684-2559 to see if the distribution is still happening.

Fresh, frozen, and non-perishable food will be given out upon availability.
