Mobile Pantry

In collaboration with Central Texas Food Bank, we distribute food every first Tuesday of the month and every third Thursday at 8:30 a.m. at Rattler Stadium in San Marcos, Texas.

Home-Aide Program

Individuals who are homebound and unable to attend a community food distribution participate in this program. A designated aid picks up a brown bag of dry goods, breads, produce and fresh, frozen meat on a weekly basis and delivers the goods to the individual's home. Please contact our office to get information on how to sign up.

Backpack Program

Hays County Food Bank provides accessible food items to low-income students in Hays CISD and Wimberley ISD. We began piloting this Wallace Middle School and Hemphill Elementary School (Hays CISD) in August 2016. Our efforts were so successful that we expanded to include 4 additional schools in October 2016: Camino Real Elementary School; Chapa Middle School; McCormick Middle School; and Wimberley Fig Tree Outreach Program, where we help supplement their ongoing backpack program. We distribute food to our Backpack Program collaborators twice a month. Each student who participates in the program receives fresh apples, granola bars, peanut butter crackers, canned ravioli, canned tuna, and refried beans. These items were chosen so participating students can still have a meal if/when they do not have the help of a parent.

Partner Agency Program

We work with multiple partner agencies in the county throughout the year, providing food at no cost for their clients. Our hope is that by working together, we can help even more people in need in our community. Click here for our current partner agency list.

Turkeys Tackling Hunger Holiday Meal Program

This will be our 12th annual Turkey’s Tackling Hunger Holiday Meal Distribution.
The week before Thanksgiving, Hays County Food Bank will distribute ~2,500 frozen turkeys or hams, along with a box of traditional fixings, for families in need throughout Hays County at no cost.
