Important Distribution Notes

If you qualify for services, you are allowed to visit a distribution. We provide groceries to low-income households and those suffering from a food emergency.


  • All distributions are now client-choice.
  • Tuesday Distributions are walk-up. Clients need to bring bags/boxes for groceries.
    • If you have a rolling cart or cooler, please bring it as it will assist in getting food to your vehicle.
    • Volunteers will be available to assist those who need help to their vehicle.
  • Monday, Thursday, and monthly distributions in Wimberley are drive-thru.
    • Have a space already cleared for your food before you arrive at drive-thru distribution.
    • Items will not be in bags, so if you don't want your food rolling around in the trunk, please bring empty boxes/bags.



  • Determine eligibility.
      • You must meet one of the following to be eligible to receive food assistance:
        • Have a household income at or below the 185% of the Federal Poverty Level. (Click for chart.)
        • Participate in one of the following government assistance programs:
          • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
          • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
          • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
          • National School Lunch Program (free or reduced school meals)
          • Medicaid
        • Have a temporary food emergency such as a loss of job, loss of sole provider, disaster, etc.

  • Get registered as a new client.
      • Visit any of our regularly scheduled distributions.
      • Our Client Intake Team will ask a few self-reporting questions to ensure you and your household are eligible to receive food assistance. 
      • You will not need to show proof of residence or proof of income.

  • Receiving other sources of food assistance.
    • Central Texas Food Bank mobile pantry distributions are another resource for food assistance. These mobile pantries will happen once a month, unless they fall on a holiday or there is inclement weather. Please call (512) 684-2559 if you have questions about service.

Distribution Types

Walk-Up Distribution:

  • Tuesday - St. Anthony's Catholic Church

Please bring your own bags and/or boxes for food. There will be some client choice for grocery items. Volunteers will be available to offer assistance with carrying food to vehicles. Clients may arrive at any time during the posted distribution. Check-in starts at appointed time. There will not be yellow cards or numbers. Distributions are first come, first served.


Drive-Thru Distribution: 

  • Monday - San Marcos Public Library
  • Thursday - Buda City Park

Clients will be provided with a variety of food from the following categories: frozen or canned meat, canned non-perishable items, loose fruits, loose vegetables, packaged fruits, packaged vegetables, salads, baked goods, and breads. Food items will not be in bags. We suggest providing empty boxes or bags in your turnk or truck bed to keep your food more secure. Clients may arrive at any time during the posted distribution. Check-in starts at appointed time. Distributions are first come, first served.

Policies & Procedures

For Walk-Up Distribution, Clients Must:

  • Provide own boxes/bags.
  • Form an orderly line (line is not official until Distribution Coordinator arrives on site).
    • Only one member per household is allowed in pick-up line.
    • Numbers will be distributed to clients who are in line in the order they are present once the food bank begins to hand out numbers. You will be checked in, in order.
    • No line jumping.
    • No joining friends/family who are already in line.
  • Be able to provide name and date of birth to receive services
    • No ID required.
  • Treat all persons with respect.
    • If there is an issue, please report it to a staff member.
    • Staff reserves the right to refuse service to any uncooperative person.

For Drive-Thru Distribution, Clients Must:

  • Clear an area in the trunk of your car or bed of your truck for your food before arriving to a distribution.
  • We suggest providing empty boxes or bags for our team to place food in. This way your food does not roll around in your trunk or truck bed.
  • Form an orderly line in the marked area of the parking lot.
  • Follow all directions of staff members or distribution leader.
  • When it is your turn, pop your trunk.
    • If your trunk does not open, we will place your food on the hood of your vehicle.
    • You may then get out and put it in your car once our team member has stepped away.
    • We will not put anything in the interior of your car. 
  • Treat all persons with respect.
    • If there is an issue, please report it to a staff member.
    • Staff reserves the right to refuse service to any uncooperative person.

  • These distributions do not count as one of your weekly allowed distributions.
  • Clients must be present to receive food.
  • Clients must be 18 years or older.
  • These are single round distributions.
  • If the weather is bad or if the mobile pantry occurs on a holiday, please call (512) 684-2559 to see if the distribution is still happening.
