Spring Harvest Challenge

This time of year marks a critical time for food banks. Food donations begin to drop dramatically, but demand doesn’t. Hunger knows no season.

This challenge puts an emphasis on healthier donations. Plant an extra row in your garden and designate it for the food bank. Purchase an extra bag of fruit on your weekly grocery trip. Consider healthier shelf-stable items like those rich in nutrients with no added sugar or salt.

Hays County Food Bank challenges you to host your own Spring Harvest drive.

Create a team of friends, family, or coworkers and collect all of the healthy foods that you can and bring to 220 Herndon St. in San Marcos. The winners will be determined by which group collects the most food, and will win our traveling trophy for one year! Teams may bring in food throughout the challenge, but you must indicate what team it should count toward.
